K-Beach

               Kalifornsky Beach, also known as K-Beach, is a community right outside of the City of Kenai and City of Soldotna located on the Kenai Peninsula. If you do not want to live in the city then K-beach is a good place to call home. It only takes a couple of minutes to drive to Kenai or Soldotna.

               The Orca Theatre is a movie theatre that is located in K-Beach. There is a new bike path on K-Beach also, making it safe for those wanting to go on a walk or bike ride. The Red Diamond Center is home to many different businesses such as the DMV, a gas station, hair salon and coffee shop. The Diamond M Ranch Resort is located 4 miles away from Kenai and 5.5 miles away from Soldotna. The Diamond M Ranch Resort has a cabin that people may stay in or an RV park for your motorhomes. It is located just minutes away from four different boat launches. Pets are welcome there, but you must clean up after them.                The Kenai Landing is a popular spot out on K-Beach. The Landing is located at the mouth of the famous Kenai River and has been there for almost 100 years. Is it known for being Alaska’s most famous salmon cannery. In 2004 The Landing was remodeled into a fisherman’s destination that is surrounded by wildlife and breathtaking beauty. It still has the classic cannery architecture but is now a clean, no-frills lodging known for having the best prices on the Kenai Peninsula. There are many different options for you if you would like to stay there. The Kenai Landing also has RV sites, boat launching, and waterfront walkways. There is also the Sockeye Restaurant which is only open for special occasions.

              There are a few options that parents have when deciding where to send your child for school. The Cook Inlet Academy is a private Christian school that serves PK-12. CIA received a distinguished GreatSchools Rating of 4 out of 5. Every school except Cook Inlet Academy is a part of the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District. There is also K-Beach Elementary School which is a public school that offers classes for kids in grades PK-6. K-Beach Elementary received a distinguished GreatSchools Rating of 8 out of 10. When it comes to middle school and high school CIA is the only school in K-Beach that offers those classes. The other options are to go to school in the City of Kenai or Soldotna. In Kenai parents can send their kids to Kenai Middle School, Kenai Central High School or the Kenai Alternative School. Kenai Middle School received a rating of 8 out of 10, Kenai Central High School received an 8 out of 10 and Kenai Alternative School received a 5 out of 10 rating. In Soldotna parents can send their kids to Soldotna Middle School, Soldotna High School or Skyview High School. Soldotna Middle School received a rating of 9 out of 10, Soldotna High received 10 out of 10, and Skyview High received an 8 out of 10 rating. Kenai Peninsula College is an extension of the University of Alaska-Anchorage and is located in K-Beach. They offer classes for certificate programs, Associate of Applied Science degrees, Associate of Arts degree and Bachelor degrees.
