Some of the top Alaskan guides/instructors will take the students to the best fishing spots on the Kenai Peninsula, including the famous Kenai River, and will get to practice what they have learned during this week long program. After this intensive week-long fishing experience students get to see firsthand why The Kenai Fishing Academy is “The Home of the Educated Angler.”

If you are wanting to be a fishing guide and plan to guide clients then the Kenai River Guide Academy is for you. It is taught at Kenai Peninsula College, along the banks of the Kenai River, and is a 5-day course that is required to be a guide with clients. Since 2007 guides have had to pass this course in order to receive an Alaska Department of Parks and Outdoor Recreation commercial operator permit to guide on the Kenai River.
